Brewing
Your Tea.......
- Warm teapot with
hot water
- Heat fresh, cold
water following guide:
- Black tea:
212°F
- Oolong tea:
195°-210°F
- Green or white
tea: 170°-180°F
- Discard water in
teapot and place 1 teaspoon of tea per cup in pot.
- Pour hot or boiling
water over the tea leaves.
Agitate occasionally. Steep following guide:
- Black tea:
3-5 minutes
- Oolong tea:
4-7 minutes
- Green or white
tea: 2-5 minutes
- Stir the tea with
a long spoon for full flavor before pouring the tea through a strainer
into teacups.
- Pour through strainer
into cup. Taste tea before making additions such as milk, lemon or sugar.
Milk is generally no added to flavored, green or oolong tea.
- For a second infusion,
pour into your teapot about half as much boiling water as you did initially
and steep the same leaves a few minutes longer than your original brew.
Additional hints to
improve your tea:
- You should boil
fresh water and not reuse water that has already been heated.
- Never allow tea
to over steep. It will taste bitter. If you like stronger tea, add more
tea leaves rather than infusing longer than recommended.
- Use loose tea and
a tea strainer whenever possible to give your tea leaves plenty of room
to expand and completely infuse.

Teago

Last year at the Tea expo
I had the wonderful opportunity to meet the inventor Cheryl Dunbar and
play this fun game.
It is both entertaining as well as educational on all things related
to tea.
Teago- tea time bingo is
elegantly, package with 12 game boards, 50 calling cards, and chips.
It also includes a game calling sheet, information on each tea related
item and teatime story.
Teago is a delightful parlor game that can be played and enjoyed by
everyone.
Everyone is talking about what fun it is to play at tea parties, showers
and fund raisers.
